Our History PGE FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS HOLIDAY PARADE The PGE Festival of Lights Holiday Parade was started it years ago by the efforts of Warren Franklin. The first year the parade was called the KBZY Salem Downtown Holiday Parade. By the next year the name had changed to the Festival of Lights Holiday Parade. We were proud to add PGE as our title sponsor in 1998. The parade has grown every year. That first year, none of the Salem-Keizer High School bands participated in the parade. Now we are extremely pleased that all of our high school bands participate. This is a special feature the community looks forward to each parade. The 2010 theme is "HOLIDAY SPIRIT" and we look forward to seeing all the wonderful float designs that will be parading through downtown Salem this year.
